Blood of Deceit

The Horrors of the Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment

This film examines the Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment, one of the most egregious violations of medical ethics in American history. For over 40 years, hundreds of Black men in Alabama were deliberately left untreated for syphilis by government researchers—even after a cure was available—so scientists could study the disease’s progression. Framed as free healthcare, the study instead became a symbol of exploitation, racism, and systemic abuse.

Through archival footage, expert analysis, and community voices, the film explores how trust was shattered and what it means to seek justice in the aftermath of betrayal. It also reveals how the echoes of Tuskegee still shape attitudes toward medicine and public health today. At its core, the story is not just about one experiment—it is about what happens when a nation devalues certain lives in the name of science.
