The year is 1810, in the heart of Philadelphia
a small group of determined individuals gathered in the backroom of a local Quaker meeting house. They were drawn together by a shared conviction that the institution of slavery was a profound moral wrong, and by a mutual resolve, they chose to act against it. This meeting marked the informal beginnings of what would come to be known as the Underground Railroad, a network that would grow to become one of the most significant resistance movements in American history.
